Facebook offers a 45% cost-per-click discount for ads that link to another Facebook page rather than an external site, according to research by TBG.
This has led to brands building a presence within Facebook so they can benefit from these lower costs. The new research, released today, is based on 326bn impressions for 266 clients across 205 countries.

Google is about to take what it calls “a whole new approach” to search advertising, the foundation of its massive revenues. Google is announcing an alternative, which it calls Dynamic Search Ads. Traditionally, an advertiser will create a campaign by bidding to run ads alongside specific keyword searches. With the new product, advertisers just point AdWords toward the pages that they want to promote. Then Google matches the ad with the best searches and generates an appropriate headline.

Click-Through Rates for Travel Searches on Mobile are 61% Higher

Click-through rates for travel searches on mobile are 61% higher than from conventional internet connections, research by performance marketing firm Efficient Frontier has found. However the picture is markedly different for conversion rates on mobile, which were found to be 49% lower than from fixed-line computers. Efficient Frontier said the findings underline that most searches with an ‘intent to buy’ are carried out on consoles, but it still believes travel firms have an opportunity with mobile.
