Hitwise April 2008 Hitwise Industry Report for Travel – Agencies

According to Hitwise’s latest Travel – Agencies report, 68.78% of all visits to the online ‘Travel – Agencies’ industry went to the top 10 websites for the month of April 2008. 78.78% went to the top 20 websites and 93.11% went to the top 100 websites.

Microsoft – Yahoo! Not to be Deal?

Microsoft announced on Saturday that it has withdrawn its proposal to acquire Yahoo! after the two companies could not come to an agreement on a price and other terms.

Irish Trips Overseas up 11%

Overseas Trips by Irish Residents increased by 11% to 547,600 in February 2008 compared to the 494,600 recorded in February 2007, according to Central Statistics Office.
The number of overseas visits to the Ireland increased by just 2% to 547,600 during this period, compared with 460,600 in Feburary 2007.

AOL Travel / Zogby Survey Finds More than Half of Americans Have Less Money to Spend This Year on Summer Vacations than in 2007

AdWords introduces new image ads for mobile web pages

The Google marketing manager Alexandra Kenin informs that Google AdWords now offers mobile image ads. The ads are the same as typical Google image ads but small enough to fit on a mobile phone’s screen.

Microsoft acquires Farecast for $115 million
